Of course the Republicans don't want the horrible shit they want to pass to effect the midterms.
And they don’t want to let a vote go to the floor about impeaching hegseth, because they would have to essentially vote up or down on the Iran war, and it’s very unpopular even in their core voting groups. That’s exactly why they went to recess early.
Can't risk anymore of those pesky "release the Epstein files" bills reaching the floor before people vote.
More like "stuff they're practically planning to never do"
Things they’ve expressly delayed, ignored, and allowed to fester before they rip it back open just to make it worse
