Ai has possibly fucked the hiring process most of all. It's managed to do it in tons of different ways.

    • it's caused positions to be flooded with applications.
    • applications are ai generated lies to match the ai generated wants.
    • applications are outright fake to a much higher degree than ever before.
    • ai can't really tell the difference between real candidates and fake ones.
    • finding the actually qualified applicants is harder because they have to have an equally fake resume to get past the ai filters.
    • ai interviews alienate applicants.
    • AI use in interviews makes a lot of existing techniques less useful in interviews.

Honestly we need bidirectional human gates for this not more AI arms race imho.

I want a job post cryptographically signed by the lead of the team I am applying for and I'll sign mine the same. Ideally with a token system that requires human input, like pin + bio(bio is useless on its own and should be local to the device only). Ideally we both have some FAQ supplement attached like -+25% pay range for them for the position, I'll put my asking offer in the app. Include a pending negotiations application type as well.

We get past that? Send me an email asking for follow ups based on my resume or what wasn't covered, ill ask you follow ups. Schedule a paid audition/meeting after that with the team just to be sure I can actually do the role and that the role is in fact what they said it was.

This is kinda my problem. You get people toughting using ai to apply to thousands of jobs but its like. I want to look at, evaluate, and determine if a job is right with my skillset and im not going to lie to get it. I will put in for ones where I don't meet everything but I will explain where im strong and where im weak.

Well yeah, there aren’t jobs. This is the part where the rich squeeze the poor for everything they have so they are broke and have fewer choices. Can’t move if you’re poor. Get back to work, pleb.

The way my current work is headed has me updating my resume already. Everyone's so deep into AI psychosis, so far I've been able to totally avoid using the slop machines but it feels like there's more and more pressure to use them coming from upper management, and I feel like I'm the only goddamn person in this company rejecting that garbage entirely. Not to mention we're getting more US government-related clients that I have zero real interest in supporting but have to for my paycheck, but I do get a small bit of satisfaction in that the literal only support rep on US soil (me) is also a filthy commie.

but realistically it's probably next to impossible to find something in tech at a company that's staunchly anti-AI, doesn't support the imperialist machine, and allows full remote positions.

True, I keep getting rejected when applying for the job of zookeeper even for zoos I'm not banned from
