Are you kidding me. He damaged this country every time he was in office. MAGAt morons wanted more. They got it now.
Absolutely. There were signs in late 2019 that he was screwing the economy. COVID actually did him a favor by imploding everything and giving him plausible deniability so he could run on the economy he inherited from Obama in 2024 while blaming Biden for the post-COVID economy.
Not his fault? The fumbling of the COVID response was 100% his fault, and a major cause of the economic problems.
You might say that some of it was an unavoidable part of being such a highly interconnected and mobile society, but his need to be seen as the smartest person in the world directly caused it to be much worse.
And the one thing he did right with fast tracking of the vaccines his supporters ignored, lmao
Economics is complicated, with people like POTUS having influence for years after leaving office due to their policies. As such, it's usually disingenuous to place the blame (or credit) on a single person.
It's rare that you have such a clear cause and effect in place. Right now, the economy is still ok in spite of Trump, and everyone agrees on that. His actions, by all rights, should've already cratered the US economy for at least a generation.
